Descriptions of terms commonly used on this site.

Mudras

Mudras are bio-electrical circuits that we create by connecting fingers to fingers or thumbs to fingers. The circuits formed influence the direction of our mental, physical and spiritual energies.

Visualization

Visualization means to see with the mind’s eye or directed imagination. At a deeper levels visualization can encompass all the senses: inner sight, sound, taste, touch and smell.

Realization

Realization is the transcending or diminishing of all illusion. The action or practice of realization is to learn to see and experience that what is truly real and what is not.

Prana

Prana also known as Chi, Qi, Ki or Mana is universal life force. This energy is vital for human life and can be channeled and transformed for empowering the body, mind and spirit.

Gratitude

Gratitude is appreciating all that we experience and connect with. It is feeling thankful for all that we are. It is a natural outpouring of love for the experience of self.

Empowerment

Empowerment is the ability to experience positive opportunity in our lives. This means that at any given moment we are able to choose experiences that we perceive as for our highest good.

Pranayama

The control or directing of prana(life force). The practice of Pranayama begins with the manipulation of prana by regulating and controlling the breath, then at higher levels the prana is directed by mind alone.

Meditation

Meditation is the practice or action of directing consciousness. It can be anything from a simple focusing on the breath to complex visualizations or mantras. What is occurring however is always a direction or guiding of the consciousness into a particular experience. The experience itself depends on the intention of the practitioner and practice. A meditation may be designed for calm, it may be designed for surrender or emptiness, it may be designed for higher self connection, soul travel or manifestation.

Healing

The process of realization in which the mind, body and spirit realizes wholeness or unity. When all levels of dis-ease experience the unity then the illusion of dis-ease is transcended. Healing is essentially moving from a dimension of “there is something to be healed” to a dimension of “there is nothing to be healed.”

Alchemy(Internal and External)

External Alchemy is the study and understanding of transforming physical materials into gold or other valuable substances. In recent decades External Alchemy has began to also refer to the use of various artifacts, crystals and potions for the use of magic, meditation and manifestation.

Internal Alchemy is the study and understanding of transforming energies through direction of consciousness alone. Many Alchemists start on the external path and through understanding the “paths of power” gradually depend less on the external artifacts and move into using pure consciousness.
